Semi Truck Mechanic ( 1099 Independent Contractor Position )

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and energetic Semi Truck Mechanic to join the team at Expert Truck & Trailer Services! •This is a 1099 independent contractor position•As a mechanic , you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining semi trucks to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance. Your expertise will help keep our shop running smoothly and efficiently, supporting our commitment to reliable transportation services. This position offers an opportunity for mechanics with a passion for heavy equipment and automotive repair to showcase their technical skills in a fast-paced environment. Added Benefits 45 minute paid lunch ( daily ) Company provided lunch every Friday Paid time off ( after 6 months ) Duties Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on semi trucks, tractor-trailers, and heavy equipment using schematics and automotive diagnostic tools Repair and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, suspensions, hydraulics, shocks & struts, and other vehicle components Conduct fabrication tasks such as welding, soldering, and assembly of parts or equipment as needed Operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment safely and efficiently Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs on various vehicle components Replace tires, perform wheel alignments, and service brakes to ensure vehicle safety standards are met Use power tools and hand tools for repairs, maintenance tasks, and equipment fabrication while adhering to safety protocols Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with a focus on heavy-duty trucks or industrial equipment; dealership experience is highly preferred Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and electrical diagnostics Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery is a plus Proficiency with automotive repair tools including power tools, soldering equipment, welders, and hand tools Ability to lift heavy components safely during maintenance or repair procedures Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients We are committed to providing paid positions that support your growth as a professional mechanic while ensuring safety and quality in every task you undertake.
