GFL Environmental seeks a Diesel Mechanic to keep our refuse and recycling fleet safe, reliable, and compliant. In this on-site role, you'll inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and related equipment, performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and brake systems. You'll document work, support road calls, and follow strict safety and environmental procedures. Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and related equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, including fluid changes, filter replacement, and system checks. Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, brake, and suspension systems using diagnostic tools. Document all inspections, repairs, and parts used in maintenance systems according to company standards. Follow all GFL and regulatory safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements. Support on-road breakdowns and emergency repairs to minimize route downtime. Collaborate with drivers, operations, and supervisors to prioritize work orders and equipment availability. Maintain a clean, organized shop and properly handle, store, and dispose of parts, fluids, and waste materials.
