Position will report to the Shop Manager. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and fix heavy trucks, light trucks and trailers with a positive attitude and ability to work well with others.
- Perform all levels of preventative and corrective maintenance services.
- Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure proper working condition.
- Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications including but not limited to engines, transmissions and clutches, driveline, differential, steering and suspension, fuel and ignition system, exhaust systems (including regeneration systems), intake systems, electrical systems, brake systems, HVAC systems and lift-gate hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems.
- Address all Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write ups timely, and efficiently. Qualifications/Requirements
- Ability to safely drive service vehicles and vehicles in and out of the service area and perform test drives.
- In-depth knowledge of truck components and systems.
- Good mechanical aptitude for vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Possess diagnostic/troubleshooting skills
- Understand how internal combustion gas and diesel engines work, as well as able to identify main components.
- Diesel repair experience required.
- Pay is based on experience.
