Job Description Apex Waste is growing! We are a family owned and operated business dedicated to providing prompt, personalized, and dependable service. We do this by having only the best of the best working with us. We are looking for someone to safely and professionally maintain our fleet of garbage trucks in Northcentral Indiana. Responsibilities Preparing work plans after fully assessing issues including electrical and hydraulic systems Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions Utilizing vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure codes to initiate repairs. Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment in air systems, brakes, and hydraulics Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance worksheets associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times. Reviews and completes repairs identified by shop manager and driver. Maintains a clean, safe work area. Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines and other associated parts Conducting field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance Completing oil changes, services, and brake checks Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles Maintain positive attitude while taking initiative in daily tasks Needed Skills Communication through words and/or text Punctuality and dependability Ability to push, pull, or lift 50-150 lbs. regularly Requirements Valid CDL driver's license (Class B minimum) is preferred but not required. Able to pass DOT physical and drug screening Must be able to work some weekends, and early mornings or evenings as needed Positive, can do attitude Salary is based on experience.

Experience:
Commercial driving: 1 year (Preferred) Automotive diagnostics: 5 years (Required)
