In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless operation of fleet vehicles, industrial machinery, and farm equipment. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems across various heavy equipment and vehicles. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension checks, and alignment adjustments to maximize vehicle lifespan. Fabricate parts or modifications using welding and hand tools to meet specific repair needs or enhance equipment performance. Interpret schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues and execute precise repairs on complex mechanical systems. Repair and maintain HVAC systems on vehicles, and automotive electrical components with attention to detail. Assist in the assembly of new equipment or components as required while adhering to safety standards and quality controls. Qualifications Proven experience as a diesel mechanic with dealership experience preferred; strong background in heavy truck repair is essential. Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems including transmissions, hydraulics, suspension, brakes, shocks & struts, air brakes, and vehicle electrical systems. Skilled in automotive diagnostics using modern diagnostic tools; capable of troubleshooting complex vehicle systems efficiently. Proficient with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques necessary for repairs and modifications. Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals for precise repairs. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills; able to communicate clearly with team members and clients alike. Physical ability for heavy lifting, working at heights or confined spaces as required; commitment to safety protocols at all times.
