Job Description

GFL Environmental is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to keep our waste and recycling fleet safely on the road. In this on-site role, you will inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and related equipment, performing preventive maintenance, brake and hydraulic repairs, and electrical troubleshooting. You'll use diagnostic tools, follow safety and environmental standards, and accurately document all work. Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and related equipment Perform preventive maintenance, including fluid changes and safety inspections Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and brake systems using diagnostic tools Document all work performed and maintain accurate maintenance records Ensure all repairs meet safety, environmental, and company standards Collaborate with operations to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant shop work area Participate in safety programs and follow all company policies and procedures Required Skills Diesel engine diagnostics Hydraulic systems repair Brake system maintenance Electrical systems troubleshooting Preventive maintenance Welding and fabrication Use of diagnostic software/tools Reading technical manuals and schematics Safety and OSHA compliance Recordkeeping and work order documentation
