Diesel Truck Mechanic | Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM With 50+ years of experience , the Dana family of companies is a trusted, family-owned leader in liquid and dry bulk transportation, equipment leasing, tank cleaning, maintenance, and related services. We partner with respected companies nationwide and are committed to safety, integrity, and excellence. Dana Transport is hiring an experienced Diesel Truck Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair company-owned diesel tractors at our St. Gabriel, LA terminal. Trailer repairs will be limited and performed as needed. Key Responsibilities of the
Diesel Truck Mechanic:
Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair diesel tractors. Repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, electrical, and emissions/after-treatment systems (DPF/DEF). Perform diagnostic and post-repair test drives. Respond to occasional road service calls. Complete accurate maintenance and service records. Perform basic welding, brazing, and cutting as needed. Maintain safe, clean equipment and comply with DOT and company safety standards. Qualifications of the Diesel Truck Mechanic 3+ years of diesel tractor/heavy truck repair experience. Strong diesel engine, mechanical, and electrical diagnostic skills. Valid driver's license. Ability to read technical manuals and use diagnostic/precision tools. Own complete set of mechanic's tools. Welding experience (TIG/MIG) preferred. Trailer/cargo tank experience is a plus, but not required. Formal training or apprenticeship preferred. Must be willing to work overtime as needed. Must pass a pre-employment non-DOT drug screen, physical fitness exam, and background check.
Compensation & Benefits:
Starting at $20/hour for junior-level candidates; pay depends on skill and experience.
