Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with experience in working on various types of heavy equipment and heavy duty vehicles. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure that all machinery operates efficiently and safely. Duties Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including but not limited to tractors, trailers, and heavy machinery. Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostics tools and schematics. Perform repairs on transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and brake systems. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators and cranes to facilitate repairs. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for assembly and repair tasks. Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on vehicles and equipment. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle maintenance needs. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and safety standards are met. Skills Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role within a heavy duty truck shop repair or service technician environments. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and heavy duty truck systems. Familiarity with dealership operations is a plus. Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting purposes. Experience with heavy lifting and the operation of forklifts is beneficial. Knowledge of fabrication processes is advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues. Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and teamwork. $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
