As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting preventative maintenance to keep operations moving forward. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension components, and other heavy equipment systems using schematics and OEM specifications. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, alignment adjustments, and HVAC system checks on various equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm machinery. Fabricate parts or components as needed using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to ensure precise fit and function. Conduct heavy lifting operations safely while handling heavy equipment or parts during repairs or assembly processes. Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to identify electrical issues in industrial equipment and perform electrical repairs with accuracy. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed in compliance with safety standards. Operate heavy machinery safely during troubleshooting or testing phases to verify repairs and ensure operational safety. Skills Proven experience working in a dealership environment or with heavy machinery repair is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension systems, and HVAC units. Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting complex electrical or hydraulic issues on industrial equipment. Proficient with fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, assembly work, and the use of power tools. Ability to perform automotive diagnostics on various vehicle types such as tractor-trailers or farm machinery. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators or cranes is advantageous. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Capable of heavy lifting and working in physically demanding environments while adhering to safety protocols.
