QUALIFICATIONS
1.Minimum of 4-6 years of experience as a heavy-duty mechanic, preferably with school bus or commercial vehicles. 2.Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements, or willingness to obtain. 3.Strong knowledge of diesel engines, brake systems, electrical diagnostics, and air conditioning systems. 4.Ability to lift heavy equipment 5.ASE Certification a plus but not required
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Reports to the Transportation Coordinator. 2.Perform routine maintenance like oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations. 3.Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and safety-related issues. 4.Assist with breakdowns and emergency repairs as needed. 5.Maintain service records and documentation. 6.Ensure compliance with all DOT, state and federal regulations. 7.Drive a school bus run as needed. 8.Report to work during or after storms to ensure the fleet is ready. 9.Proper disposal of oils, fluids, and chemicals to avoid fire and health risks. 10.Establish daily & weekly cleaning routines in the shop to help meet OSHA, EPA, and local health & safety standards. 11.Will be on call for emergency work. 12.Other duties as assigned by the Transportation Coordinator and Administration
SALARY AND WORKING CONDITIONS
12-month position Salary Range - $70,000 - $85,000 depending on experience and licenses
