Fleet Diesel Systems Mechanic - Full-Time Opportunity in Chambersburg, PA 2nd
Shift Company Overview:
Bousum Trucking is a leading waste hauling company specializing in the transportation and brokerage of municipal solid waste, construction and demolition materials, biosolids, mulch, and recyclables. Our modern fleet of trucks and Yellow Iron equipment keeps essential operations moving, and we're looking for a skilled Diesel Truck Mechanic to help maintain it. Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic tests and inspections on heavy diesel trucks (including Kenworth and Paccar engines ) and Yellow Iron equipment Conduct preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on hydraulic, electrical, suspension, brake, and air systems Use diagnostic software to interpret failure modes and recommend or carry out necessary repairs Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts orders, and preventive maintenance activities Communicate effectively with team members, vendors, and customers to prioritize workloads and ensure high-quality service Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental policies, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic working with heavy-duty trucks and equipment Strong diagnostic skills and familiarity with Kenworth and Paccar engines Extensive knowledge of air brakes, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, welding, and Yellow Iron machinery Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple repair projects Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent problem-solving and mechanical troubleshooting skills Strong communication and time management skills
