Job Description
About the Role Ellsworth Equipment is expanding our service team, and we're looking for a skilled, dependable Diesel Technician who knows their way around compact tractors, diesel engines, and modern Tier‑4 systems. You'll diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of equipment—from Kioti tractors to diesel‑powered implements—while working alongside a tight‑knit team that values accuracy, communication, and doing the job right the first time. If you take pride in clean work, solid diagnostics, and keeping customers running, you'll fit in well here. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrains on compact and utility tractors. Perform routine maintenance including fluid changes, filters, adjustments, and inspections. Troubleshoot Tier‑4 emissions systems (DPF, DEF, sensors, regen issues). Complete work orders accurately, documenting labor, parts, and findings. Collaborate with the Service Writer and other technicians to ensure efficient workflow. Prepare equipment for delivery, including setup, testing, and final inspection. Communicate clearly with customers when needed to explain repairs or recommendations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Assist with warranty diagnostics, photos, and required documentation. What We're Looking For Strong mechanical aptitude with diesel engines , hydraulics, and electrical systems. Experience with agricultural, construction, or heavy equipment preferred. Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic reports. Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple jobs without losing accuracy. Team‑oriented mindset—willing to help others and share knowledge. Comfort using diagnostic tools, scan equipment, and laptop‑based service software. Ability to safely operate tractors, loaders, and attachments. Preferred Qualifications Diesel or equipment technician experience. Familiarity with Kioti, LS Tractor, or similar brands. Understanding of Tier‑4 emissions systems and regen processes. Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus but not required. Certifications in diesel technology or equipment repair are a bonus.
