Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel and Semi Trailer Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel engines, semi trailers, and related equipment. Your expertise will ensure the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of our fleet, supporting our commitment to efficient transportation operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity for mechanics with a passion for heavy equipment repair and a desire to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems for semi trailers and heavy trucks. Conduct preventative maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and system inspections to prevent breakdowns. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to meet specific repair needs. Repair or replace components such as shocks & struts, air brakes, HVAC systems, steering systems, and powertrain parts to ensure vehicle safety and compliance. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery as needed during repairs or inspections. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repair activities adhering to safety standards. Qualifications Proven experience working as a diesel mechanic or heavy truck repair technician with dealership or industrial background preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive diagnostics, transmissions, suspension systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting complex vehicle issues efficiently. Experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; ability to work with hand tools and power tools safely. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation such as excavators or cranes is advantageous. Familiarity with automotive electrical systems repair and HVAC systems is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments.
