Moran Bluewater CDJR | Fort Gratiot, MI | Full-Time | Service & Repair 5-day work week - Mon - Fri , Air Conditioned shop, no weekends or evenings Benefits Position Summary Moran Bluewater CDJR is seeking a skilled and motivated Heavy Duty Engine Repair Technician to join our growing service team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining heavy-duty gasoline and diesel engines while delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional service. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to performing repairs efficiently and accurately. Key Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical, electrical, fuel, cooling, and performance concerns on heavy-duty gasoline and diesel engines. Perform engine repairs, rebuilds, overhauls, and component replacements. Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify maintenance and repair needs. Utilize diagnostic tools, software, and manufacturer resources to troubleshoot issues. Complete repair orders accurately and document all work performed. Perform preventative maintenance and routine service work as assigned. Test-drive vehicles when appropriate to verify repairs and identify concerns. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Communicate repair recommendations and findings with service advisors and management. Stay current on manufacturer updates, repair procedures, and emerging technologies. Follow all dealership safety policies and procedures. Qualifications Previous experience performing heavy-duty engine diagnostics and repairs required. Diesel engine repair experience preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively. Understanding of electrical, fuel, hydraulic, and emissions systems. ASE certifications are preferred but not required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
