Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic with trailer repair experience to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicles, including trailers and other industrial equipment. Your expertise will ensure our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Conduct trailer repairs including axle, brake systems, lighting, and structural components to ensure safety compliance. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery for maintenance or repair tasks. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, cutting tools, and fabrication techniques to meet repair specifications. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports for all vehicles and equipment serviced. Assist in preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of fleet vehicles and machinery. Requirements Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with a focus on trailer repair; dealership experience is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics, electrical system repair, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension alignment, and tire service. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex vehicle systems. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools safely and effectively. Experience with vehicle maintenance for tractor-trailers and heavy trucks; familiarity with Caterpillar or similar industrial equipment is advantageous. Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude toward team collaboration. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions; willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
