Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Mobile Diesel Technician and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing heavy-duty diesel equipment across diverse industries. This energetic role offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of machinery, including trucks, excavators, cranes, and farm equipment. As a Mobile Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems in the field, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep operations running smoothly and efficiently, providing essential support to our clients and their heavy equipment fleets. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension, and HVAC components using schematics and advanced tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and industrial machinery to ensure reliable operation. Fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational requirements. Troubleshoot electrical systems including automotive diagnostics, soldering connections, and electrical repairs to resolve complex issues swiftly. Assist with tire service, shocks & struts replacement, wheel alignments, and suspension repairs to maximize equipment safety and longevity. Operate heavy machinery during repair or testing processes while adhering to safety protocols for heavy lifting and equipment handling. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and follow schematics for precise repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications. Qualifications Proven experience as a mechanic or service technician with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes (including air brake systems), HVAC systems, and suspension components. Hands-on experience with automotive repair tools such as wrenches, soldering irons, power tools, and diagnostic scanners. Ability to read schematics accurately for electrical wiring diagrams and mechanical layouts. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery or industrial equipment is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service aptitude to communicate effectively with clients.
