DIESEL MECHANIC

. Our Diesel Technicians will master troubleshooting skills, and develop a broad knowledge to properly diagnose, maintain and repair tractors and trailers. We service all makes trucks, engines and transmissions including Cat, Cummins, Detroit, Mercedes, Int'l engines, Eaton and Allison transmissions. Responsibilities for our Diesel Technician include but are not limited to: Diagnose cause of malfunction and perform repair; Accept and seek out training and mentoring that will aid in the advancement of established career path; Inspect the assigned vehicle to determine if additional service or safety related work is required or recommended; Communicate with service management immediately if additional work is needed, if work requested is not needed, or if repairs will not be an initially expected or completed on the anticipated schedule; Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order; Road test vehicles when required; Participate in manufacturer sponsored training programs, schools and events; Attain industry certifications as required; Learn to use new information technology as it becomes available; Work in shop setting as well as at customer locations for off site repairs as a Service Truck Technician; Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards Qualifications to apply for this role are: High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred); Certificate of Trade School experience in Diesel Technician studies required; Minimum of 7 years of Diesel Technician experience required; Highly skilled in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair preferred; Must possess a full set of personal tools; Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; Must be able to pass a drug test and background check Berger Transfer & Storage, Inc. is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer that welcomes diversity in the workplace.
