Job Summary:

DIRKS HEAVY CONTRACTORS

are expanding operations and seeking a skilled Equipment Mechanic to support our Utility Services, Civil, and Commercial Dirt Work Projects. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of heavy equipment used in earthmoving and site development. We are looking for individuals with strong mechanical expertise, a solid work ethic, and a stable work history. At Dirks, Honesty, Integrity, and experience are valued and rewarded!

Qualifications:

Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Experience working on heavy construction equipment (dozers, excavators, loaders, skid steers, etc.). Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment issues efficiently. Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and equipment inspections. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (year-round work). Welding and fabrication experience is a plus. Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus. Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities:

Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment used in dirt work and construction operations. Perform routine preventative maintenance and safety inspections on all equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in the field and shop. Maintain accurate service and repair records. Ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently. Assist with transporting equipment as needed. Respond to field service calls and minimize downtime on job sites. Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
