Springfield, MO Job Details Full-time $25 - $45 an hour 10 hours ago Qualifications Attention to detail Data entry Typing Diesel engine repair Time management Full Job Description Hayden Machinery is currently seeking a candidate to fill the open position of Service Technician at our Springfield, Missouri location. As a Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our clients' heavy equipment fleet functions properly and is properly maintained. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy machinery. Your expertise will help minimize equipment downtime, maximize productivity, and ensure the safety and satisfaction of our valued customers. Job Summary The Service Technician diagnoses, repairs, and maintains heavy equipment. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on a wide variety of heavy machinery. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly skilled in equipment repair, and committed to delivering excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, and perform routine maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment (e.g., loaders, excavators, bulldozers).
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and preventive checks to ensure machinery longevity and efficiency.
  • Inspect equipment for defects, damage, or malfunctions before and after repairs.
  • Document all work performed, including diagnostics, repairs, and parts used, in a detailed and accurate manner. Follow all warranty repair requirements to ensure payment from the warranty provider.
  • Adhere to manufacturer specifications and dealership repair standards.
  • Follow all safety protocols and ensure work areas are clean and organized.
  • Collaborate with service managers and parts personnel to ensure efficient and timely repair service. Ensure parts requests are accurate and up to date for the project at hand.
  • Stay updated on new equipment technologies and attend relevant training programs.
  • Provide feedback on common issues encountered to improve service processes and customer satisfaction. Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a heavy equipment technician is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including typing/data entry, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, and email/text communication.
  • Industry knowledge and experience with heavy equipment and related systems (e.g., engines, hydraulics, emissions systems).
  • Knowledge of and experience with basic tools, as well as computer-aided diagnostics using OEM and aftermarket diagnostic software (e.g., CAT ET, Cummins Insite, Deere Service Advisor).
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work overtime, including evenings, occasional weekends, holidays (on rare occasions), and overnight travel.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
  • Work is performed with frequent exposure to outside elements and seasonal environmental factors.
Frequent stooping, bending, and lifting occur. The majority of the time is spent walking, driving, or standing.
Compensation Base Salary:
$25-45 Commissions and bonus pay are awarded at the sole discretion of Hayden Machinery and are subject to change at any time.
