SIGN ON BONUS FOR NEW TEAM MEMBERS
($1,000 paid at 6 months / $1,500 paid at 1 year) •must meet safety and attendance goals at each 6 month interval• The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties on department vehicles. Essential Functions What you can expect to be doing (Essential Functions) Performs daily vehicle service requirements - Fuels buses, cars and vans daily. Accurately and Legibly Maintains related records; checks fluid levels and fills to proper level; washes and cleans buses, cars and vans Performs all phases of interior and exterior vehicle cleaning, which includes, but is not limited to, windows, walls, floors, ceilings, dome lights, handrails, seats, upholstery, gum removal, graffiti removal, trash removal, air conditioning condensers, accessibility lifts, and wheels Performs all phases of interior and exterior CHT vehicle cleaning, which includes, but is not limited to, windows, walls, floors, ceilings, dome lights, handrails, seats, upholstery, gum removal, graffiti removal, trash removal, air conditioning condensers, accessibility lifts, and wheels Maintains cleaning supply inventory; reports to supervisory staff when supplies need to be replenished Performs visual inspections of CHT vehicles to identify vehicle damage and/or mechanical problems and reports such issues to supervisor; changes light bulbs, minor vehicle components when required Performs light building maintenance such as repairing plumbing leaks, drywall repairs and changing light bulbs Performs other duties as required. Do you supervise or not? This position has no responsibility for the direction or supervision of others. What are the physical demands This work is performed sitting, standing, walking, squatting, reaching, pushing, and bending. It requires a high degree of dexterity. It requires lifting 10-15 pounds. Where and how do you work? The work is mostly performed in an automotive shop environment with work being performed both indoors and outdoors. There is frequent exposure to dust, vibration, noise and fumes.
Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of:
Department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to bus cleaning and maintenance process Ability to: Read manuals, defect cards, write a series of numbers and words to complete necessary paperwork Solve problems and make sound decisions. Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Model behavior that is consistent with our values of RESPECT. What education and/or experience do you need to be considered for this job?
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience Six months of experience in a related field required. NC DOT Medical card, possession of or the ability to readily obtain a Class B CDL with P (Passenger Endorsement) issued by the State of North Carolina, Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina Supplemental Information This classification has been designated as Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing. The position is driving essential and must conform to the Town's Safe Driving and Accident Policy and procedures.
