This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of trailer and heavy machinery components, utilizing advanced mechanical skills and technical knowledge. This position offers an engaging environment where you can apply your expertise in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment operation, and vehicle maintenance to support our fleet operations efficiently. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on trailer diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, air brake adjustments, shocks & struts replacement, and wheel alignments. Fabricate and modify components as needed for repairs or upgrades using power tools, welding equipment, and hand tools. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently during repair or installation processes. Troubleshoot complex mechanical systems involving hydraulics, HVAC systems, and electronic controls to identify root causes of malfunctions. Maintain detailed records of repairs performed, parts used, and service history for each vehicle or piece of equipment. Assist in the assembly and disassembly of trailer components or heavy machinery during repairs or inspections. Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and vehicle maintenance procedures. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly and advising on preventative maintenance strategies. Qualifications Proven dealership experience or extensive background in heavy truck repair and trailer maintenance. Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in diesel engine repair, transmissions, suspension systems, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for complex machinery. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts safely. Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and power tools for mechanical repairs. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures for farm machinery, industrial equipment, and tractor-trailers. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail in troubleshooting complex issues. Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide customer support. Physical ability for heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions.
