Description of responsibilities: Maintains diesel truck and trailer operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle and trailer deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; keeping records. Pay Depends on Experience •
STARTING PAY WILL BE BASED ON EXPERIENCE
Job Duties:
Determines vehicle and/or trailers condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts Corrects vehicle and/or trailers deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units. Maintains vehicle and/or trailers records by annotating services and repairs. Use different tools and equipment, such as pressure gauges, pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, screwdrivers, hoists and jacks, to repair trucks while constantly utilizing safety precautions Required skills: High school diploma or equivalent Must be able to lift heavy equipment and parts regularly Excellent customer service skills Must be comfortable with working in awkward positions or cramped spaces. Summary As a Diesel Truck Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing diesel trucks and trailers, ensuring optimal vehicle and trailer performance and safety. Your core skills in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and vehicle maintenance will be essential in this role. You will also utilize your expertise in air brakes, transmissions, and hydraulics to address various mechanical issues in trucks and trailers.
