Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment and vehicles. This role requires a strong foundation in automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and heavy equipment operation. The ideal candidate will have dealership experience and a comprehensive understanding of diesel engine repair, hydraulics, transmissions, and other critical systems. This position offers an opportunity to work with diverse machinery including farm equipment, industrial machinery, excavators, cranes, and tractor-trailers in a dynamic environment. Duties Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, suspensions, shocks & struts, and hydraulic systems Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, alignment, and brake repairs Fabricate and modify parts using hand tools, power tools, welding, and soldering techniques Repair and service heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery Read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues Operate heavy equipment safely during repair or testing procedures Assist in assembly and disassembly of vehicle components Maintain detailed service records and ensure compliance with safety standards Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed for custom repairs or modifications Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal vehicle performance Experience Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engines and heavy equipment repair Dealership experience preferred but not required Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics and electrical systems Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, soldering, and use of hand tools and power tools Familiarity with schematics for electrical wiring and mechanical systems Experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, farm machinery, or industrial equipment is highly desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments Knowledge of HVAC systems related to vehicle maintenance is a plus Prior service technician experience with customer service skills is advantageous This role demands a detail-oriented professional with excellent mechanical knowledge who can troubleshoot effectively while maintaining safety standards. Candidates should be committed to quality workmanship and continuous learning to stay current with evolving technology in diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
