Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and trailers, including belly dump, side dump, and water trailers. In this role, you will help keep our fleet operating safely, efficiently, and reliably. Responsibilities Diagnose issues with diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, electrical systems, and wheel alignment Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers Complete routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, shock and strut replacement, and air brake adjustments Repair or replace parts including brakes, transmissions, rear ends, suspensions, hydraulic cylinders, electrical wiring, shocks, and struts Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques for repairs and custom modifications Assist with assembly and disassembly of complex equipment components Operate heavy equipment safely during repair and testing to confirm proper function Maintain accurate service records, including repairs completed, parts used, and procedures followed Communicate repair findings and maintenance recommendations clearly through service documentation Follow all safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment Qualifications Minimum 1 year of diesel mechanic experience Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and suspension components Experience using diagnostic tools and reading schematics Hands-on fabrication experience, including welding and soldering Familiarity with tractors and trailers Ability to lift heavy parts and work in physically demanding conditions Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Valid driver's license required ASE, CDL, or manufacturer-specific certifications are a plus Strong communication skills Why Join Us Join a vibrant, experienced team committed to quality equipment maintenance Work for an established, locally owned business Build your skills through ongoing training in current repair techniques and industry standards Grow your career in a supportive environment
