This role is ideal for experienced technicians who can independently diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues while helping maintain a safe and dependable fleet. Diesel Technician Responsibilities Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our passengers Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle maintenance Repair and inspect brake systems Perform engine tune-ups, suspension, drivetrain, transmission, and clutch repairs Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems Perform preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual inspections Complete work orders accurately and maintain maintenance records Assist with mobile emergency repairs as needed Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Diesel Technician Qualifications 5+ years of diesel, fleet, heavy equipment, bus, truck, or automotive maintenance experience required Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Experience with engine, drivetrain, suspension, brake, electrical, and hydraulic repairs Ability to independently diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues School bus, transit, fleet, heavy truck, municipal, or diesel equipment experience strongly preferred Valid driver's license required CDL Class B or ability to obtain within 60 days (company-paid training provided) Must possess a mechanic's tool set Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program Strong computer and documentation skills Additional Requirements This position is safety-sensitive and subject to DOT drug testing.
