Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including garbage trucks, roll-offs, machinery, and industrial equipment. Your expertise will ensure that all vehicles and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, air brakes, HVAC systems, and electrical components. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and fluid replacements to maximize equipment lifespan. Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific repair needs. Operate heavy equipment including garbage trucks, roll-offs, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently. Inspect vehicles and machinery for safety compliance; perform repairs on farm machinery and industrial equipment as needed. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies. Requirements Proven experience working as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Service Technician in a dealership or industrial setting. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, HVAC systems, and electrical diagnostics. Hands-on experience with automotive repair tools such as power tools, welding equipment (not required), hand tools, and diagnostic scanners. Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency during repairs. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions; willingness to work flexible hours when necessary.
Pay:
$31.03 - $40.00 per hour
