In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining refrigerated trailer units and heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our fleet running smoothly, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of advanced machinery and contribute to a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on reefer trailers, including refrigeration units, diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and electrical components. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and brake repairs to ensure vehicle safety and reliability. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately. Fabricate and modify parts or components as needed using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication skills. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery safely during repair or maintenance procedures. Inspect vehicles thoroughly for wear and tear; perform preventive maintenance to extend equipment lifespan. Document all repairs and maintenance activities meticulously in service records; communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding repair status. Experience Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance. Dealership experience or equivalent technical training is highly desirable. Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and suspension components. Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues. Experience working with farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, or similar large vehicles is preferred. Ability to operate power tools safely; welding and soldering skills are a plus. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills; capable of working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
