Smith Power Products, Inc, a leading distributor for Mercedes, Allison Transmission, MTU, MTU Onsite Energy, Deutz, FPT and Ford Industrial, is seeking Field Service Technicians with mining equipment experience to join their team. They have openings in their Elko, NV branch. These are highly skilled roles that will troubleshoot and repair world-class diesel engines in the field, enjoy extensive overtime opportunities, travel on the company's dime, and be part of an organization that's hiring aggressively as it continues to expand its mining service division. Well Equipped company provided truck as well as laptop and cell phone Duties and Responsibilities not limited to: Work in a safe, reliable, professional, clean, organized, and documented manner. Follow policies and procedures and procedures set forth by governing agencies such as MSHA/OSHA, local and federal DOT, SPPI, and our customers. Troubleshoot and repair equipment, handling the customers concerns completely. Complete jobs within reasonably expected labor guidelines. Read, understand, and apply electrical and hydraulic schematics to repair work. Remove, repair, and install major components in varying configurations of equipment. Maintain tooling in good working order as per MSHA and OSHA regulations. Make determinations in the field on repairs needed, in coordination with Field Service Manager, and communicate with the customer during decision making process. Maintain service vehicle in safe and good repair. Pre-plans and schedules truck services/safety inspections with foreman. Use computer and phone to complete service reports & timecards daily, transmit photos, timecards, service reports, and other information through e-mail, app, or company software. Maintain good customer records on jobs that have been assigned. Work with the Parts Department, Field Service Manager, Product Support Representatives, and Sales Department to meet all the customers' needs. Communicate with customers on the diagnosis and status of repairs, parts, and other concerns. Teach and coach other technicians in the field.
