We are seeking an experienced CNG Bus Technician to perform diagnostics, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on compressed natural gas transit buses and related vehicle systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills, especially within transit, fleet, heavy-duty, bus, or commercial vehicle environments. The CNG Bus Technician will support daily service needs, repairs, inspections, and troubleshooting to help keep vehicles safe, reliable, and road-ready. The ideal candidate will possess 2+ years of experience in either electrical, HVAC or other related field and have experience with any of the following: buses, trains, automobiles, military vehicles, heavy equipment, or aircraft.
Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair on CNG transit buses and related fleet vehicles. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, fuel, cooling, braking, steering, suspension, HVAC, and drivetrain systems. Inspect, troubleshoot, and service CNG fuel system components, including tanks, lines, valves, regulators, fuel rails, pressure sensors, and related safety systems. Use diagnostic tools, scan tools, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and service information to identify and correct issues.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience as a bus, transit, fleet, diesel, heavy-duty, automotive, or commercial vehicle technician. Experience working on CNG vehicles strongly preferred. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to diagnose and repair vehicle systems using diagnostic software, scan tools, meters, and standard shop equipment. Knowledge of engines, fuel systems, air brakes, electrical systems, HVAC, suspension, steering, and vehicle control systems. Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, service manuals, and technical repair procedures. A CDL is preferred
