Any Position Summary Apex Materials is seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team on the graveyard shift. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of tractor-trailers and heavy equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. The ideal candidate will have experience in diesel engine repair, diagnostics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and preventative maintenance. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated mechanic looking to grow their career with a stable and expanding company. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance services on trucks, trailers, and equipment. Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and related systems. Repair and maintain hydraulic, electrical, suspension, brake, and air systems. Utilize diagnostic software and vehicle computer systems to identify and resolve mechanical issues. Conduct safety inspections and ensure equipment meets DOT and company standards. Complete work orders, maintenance records, and parts documentation accurately. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs as needed. QualificationsRequired Minimum of 2 years of diesel mechanic experience. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, and suspension systems. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must provide own tools to begin employment. Ability to work graveyard/night shift. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Fleet maintenance experience. Welding and fabrication experience. Class A CDL. High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working on tractor-trailers, dump trucks, side dumps, belly dumps, and heavy equipment. Desired Skills & Attributes Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities. Basic computer proficiency. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Pride in maintaining equipment to the highest standards.
