Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Semi-Truck Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. Knowledge in International trucks is preferred. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks and equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will keep our fleet running smoothly and efficiently, supporting our commitment to reliable transportation services. This position offers an exciting opportunity for mechanics with a passion for heavy equipment and automotive repair to showcase their skills in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on semi-trucks, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, hydraulics, electrical components, etc. Conduct routine maintenance such as lubes, oil changes, tire service, and fluid replacements to prevent breakdowns. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex issues involving diesel engines, air brakes, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and other heavy equipment parts. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific repair needs. Inspect vehicles thoroughly to identify mechanical problems; perform repairs or replacements of faulty parts with precision. Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. Minimum of 40 hours a week required, availability on some/most Saturdays preferred. Experience Proven mechanic experience working with semi-trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles in a dealership or industrial setting. Prior experience with Internationals is preferred. Strong background in automotive diagnostics combined with hands-on experience in fabrication, welding, and equipment repair. Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, air brake systems, and suspension components. Knowledge of diesel engine repair, tire service including mounting/dismounting. Ability to work with power tools and hand tools safely while performing maintenance tasks involving heavy lifting or assembly. Excellent mechanical knowledge complemented by strong customer service skills; able to communicate effectively with team members and clients alike.
