Job Description

Area Storage Transfer, Inc. is a family-owned company with over 30 years of experience working with the United States Postal Service. We are looking for a highly skilled Diesel/Trailer Mechanic to take charge of our shop operations. You will report directly to the Fleet Director. K Duties :
Oversee daily shop operations and workflow. Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, and drivetrains. Perform preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers to ensure compliance with FMCSA, federal and state regulations. Train, mentor, and support junior mechanics. Maintain parts inventory and maintenance equipment. Welds, replace parts, repairs parts, repair electrical systems, diagnose vehicles for minor body and fender work, perform tune-ups and troubleshoots problems when needed. Maintains accurate maintenance and repair records for the fleet using our fleet software eMaint. Entering DVIR's into eMaint for repair orders and check to make sure repair work was performed for completeness. Ensure all equipment has necessary paperwork and licenses to operate legally.
Education :
High School graduate plus 3 to 5 years' experience as a diesel truck mechanic, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requirements :
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License. ASE certification a plus (but not required) Considerable knowledge of safety practices and techniques in diesel truck and trailer maintenance and repair. Considerable knowledge of diesel engine operation and repair. Considerable knowledge of trailer repair. Basic computer skills. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
