JP Express Service, Inc. is looking for a skilled Heavy-Duty Diesel Fleet Technician to join our team in Islandia, NY. You'll work hands-on in our mechanical shop, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting complex systems, completing safety repairs, and helping ensure our fleet is ready to operate safely and reliably every day. What You'll Do As a Heavy-Duty Diesel Fleet Technician, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, inspection, and safety of JP Express Service's fleet.

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair ABS and air brake systems , including adjustments and safety-related repairs.
• Maintain and service after treatment and exhaust systems .
• Diagnose electrical problems, including shorts, wiring harnesses, sensors, and other electrical components.
• Perform comprehensive heavy-duty preventive maintenance on class 6,7,8 powered trucks.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and identify potential safety or mechanical issues before they become costly problems.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance meet company safety requirements and applicable standards.
• Perform rear-door and roof fabrication and repairs.
• Complete body and panel repairs, welding, and marker-light repairs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Take ownership of assigned work and use sound judgment when diagnosing and repairing equipment.

What We're Looking For We're looking for a technician who can work independently, troubleshoot effectively, and take pride in quality workmanship.

Required:

• 5+ years of verifiable experience working on heavy-duty trucks or comparable commercial vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of heavy-duty preventive maintenance and repair.
• Experience with air brakes, ABS, electrical systems, aftertreatment/exhaust systems, and vehicle safety systems .
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems accurately.
• Ability to perform welding, fabrication, body/panel repairs, and related fleet repairs.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality.
• Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently.
• Willingness to work hands-on in a mechanical shop environment.
• Ability to reliably commute to Islandia, NY 11749 , or relocate before starting.
