?Diesel Mechanic

  • Location:
  • Royal Waste- Queens NY
  • Schedule:
  • Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00 PM, Saturdays until 1pm as needed.
  • Rate:
  • $30-$40/hr, depending on experience
  • Employment Type:
  • Full-time Royal Waste Services is looking to add a
  • Road Service Mechanic

As a mechanic with us the minimum responsibilities are:
  • Key Responsibilities
  • + Perform inspections, repairs, safety checks, and diagnostics on diesel vehicles, including electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.

+ Utilize vehicle computer systems to interpret failure codes and adjust Engine and Vehicle Control Modules.

+ Respond to road calls and perform emergency roadside repairs.

+ Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs).

+ Accurately complete required documentation using fleet maintenance software.

+ Conduct post‑service test drives to ensure repairs meet safety and performance standards.

+ Collaborate with team members on complex repairs as needed.

+ Maintain professional and courteous communication with drivers.

+ Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with OSHA and company safety standards.

+ Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

  • What We Need From You
  • + Proficiency in diesel diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repair. + Basic tool set required. + Must Have a valid
  • Class B CDL
  • or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. + Hydraulic experience is a plus. + Strong skills in electrical and hydraulic systems + Well-rounded experience in mechanical and welding repairs
