This position is ideal for someone with strong diagnostic skills who takes pride in keeping equipment running safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components Perform routine maintenance on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment Troubleshoot mechanical issues and complete repairs in a timely manner Conduct inspections to ensure equipment meets safety standards Maintain accurate service and repair records Work both independently and alongside a team in a fast-paced environment Requirements 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience (heavy equipment or fleet preferred) Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics Own basic tools (preferred) Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus) Strong work ethic and reliability Preferred Qualifications Experience with CAT, Cummins, Detroit, or similar engines Welding/fabrication experience is a plus DOT inspection certification (a plus) #swgnewyork #equalopportunities
