We are not looking for just one type of mechanic. If you have experience working on diesel trucks, commercial vehicles, trailers, driveline components, clutches, radiators, electrical systems, body and paint, or other heavy-duty equipment, we want to hear from you. Whether you are an experienced all-around diesel technician or someone who has spent your career becoming very good at a particular specialty, there may be a place for you at Skinner Diesel. About Skinner Diesel Services Skinner Diesel Services has served the Columbus heavy-duty truck and equipment market since 1982. Our operation includes more than 40,000 square feet of shop space, a large on-site heavy-duty parts inventory, and a wide range of repair and specialty capabilities. Unlike many repair facilities, Skinner brings a number of specialized services together under one roof. That means our technicians have the opportunity to work alongside experienced people from multiple trades and specialties.

- Welding and fabrication You do not need experience in all of these areas. In fact, we encourage people with specialized experience to apply. If you know heavy-duty equipment and take pride in your work, we would like to talk with you. What You'll Do Responsibilities will depend on your background and area of expertise and may include:
- Diagnose and repair commercial trucks, trailers, components, or specialty equipment
- Perform mechanical, electrical, structural, or component repairs within your area of experience
- Inspect equipment and identify necessary repairs
- Complete work safely, efficiently, and correctly
- Use diagnostic equipment, shop tools, welding equipment, fabrication equipment, or specialty machinery as appropriate
- Communicate repair needs and findings to service management
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Work with other technicians and departments to get customers' equipment back in service
- Continue developing your technical skills through hands-on experience and training What We're Looking For
- Previous mechanical, technical, fabrication, body, electrical, or heavy-equipment experience
- Experience in the heavy-duty truck, trailer, automotive, equipment, agricultural, industrial, or related industries preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to diagnose problems and perform quality repairs
- Ability to safely operate tools and shop equipment
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges ASE certifications, CDL, welding certifications, DOT inspection certification, manufacturer training, or other technical certifications are a plus but are not required for every position.
