Job Description
Diesel Truck Maintenance- 30/hr Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks and related equipment. Perform brake repairs, preventive maintenance services, and general mechanical repairs on trucks. Troubleshoot mechanical issues to identify root causes and determine effective repair solutions. Repair and maintain chassis components to ensure structural integrity and safe operation. Service and repair vehicle refuse bodies and associated control systems. Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, including hoses, pumps, valves, and cylinders. Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and components on vehicles. Maintain and repair air brake systems to ensure compliance with safety standards. Perform general engine work, including diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines. Service and repair HVAC components to ensure proper heating and cooling in vehicles. Inspect and repair suspension, drive train, and steering systems for optimal performance and safety. Use personal tools and shop equipment safely and effectively to complete repairs and maintenance tasks. Document work performed and communicate repair needs and findings clearly to relevant team members. Essential Skills At least 3 years of hands-on experience working with heavy-duty trucks. Proven experience performing mechanical repairs on trucks, including brakes and general maintenance. Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing mechanical and system issues on diesel vehicles. Ability to perform preventive maintenance services on diesel trucks and equipment. Proficiency in repairing chassis components, including structural and body-related parts. Working knowledge of hydraulic systems and the ability to repair hydraulic components. Ability to diagnose and repair electrical systems on heavy-duty trucks. Experience working with air brake systems, including inspection, adjustment, and repair. Capability to perform general engine work on diesel engines. Experience servicing HVAC components on vehicles. Ability to inspect, diagnose, and repair suspension, drive train, and steering systems. Ownership of a complete and reliable set of personal tools appropriate for heavy-duty truck repair. Additional Skills & Qualifications Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred. Experience working specifically on diesel engines is highly desirable. Strong attention to detail and commitment to vehicle safety and reliability. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-oriented shop environment. Solid communication skills to clearly document and discuss repair work. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple repair tasks and priorities. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Dayton, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.28/hr.
