Job Title:
Diesel Diagnostic Technician Job Description Join a dynamic team as a Diesel Diagnostic Technician at our new location in Mansfield, OH. This role is pivotal in ensuring the optimal performance of diesel-powered vehicles through advanced diagnostics, intricate troubleshooting, and precise repairs according to dealership and manufacturer standards. Responsibilities Perform advanced diagnostics on diesel engines, aftertreatment systems, drivability concerns, electrical/electronic systems, and vehicle performance issues. Accurately identify root causes of malfunctions using manufacturer diagnostic software, scan tools, wiring diagrams, and technical service information. Execute repairs efficiently and correctly as outlined on repair orders, following dealership and factory standards. Interpret fault codes, software updates, technical bulletins, and service campaigns to determine proper corrective action. Communicate diagnostic findings clearly with the service advisor/dispatcher, including recommended repairs, additional work needed, or constraints that may impact repair timelines. Coordinate with the parts department to ensure correct components are identified and obtained based on diagnostic results. Save and tag parts as required for warranty claims or customer requests, ensuring proper documentation. Inspect assigned vehicles to identify potential safety issues, underlying problems, or preventative maintenance needs beyond the initial complaint. Road test vehicles before and after repairs to verify concerns and confirm successful resolution. Document all diagnostic procedures performed, test results, repairs completed, and recommendations clearly on repair orders. Work Environment Our new facility in Mansfield, OH offers a modern workspace equipped with fully tooled service shops, break rooms, and a supportive team environment. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, providing a balanced work-life arrangement. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mansfield, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $104000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
