Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The Diesel Technician/Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, inspecting, and performing preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, tankers, and other commercial vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance services on diesel-powered equipment. Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, steering, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Conduct DOT inspections and identify required repairs. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic software and tools. Repair and replace components including brakes, wheel seals, bearings, air systems, lights, and emissions systems. Complete work orders accurately and document repairs performed. Maintain compliance with company safety policies and environmental regulations. Respond to road service and emergency breakdowns as needed. Assist with maintaining parts inventory and shop cleanliness. Perform welding and fabrication repairs when qualified. Ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for operation. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years of diesel mechanic experience. Valid driver's license. Ability to diagnose and repair diesel engines and commercial vehicle systems. Knowledge of DOT regulations and inspection requirements. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in various weather conditions. Preferred ASE Certifications. CDL Class A. Experience with tanker trailers and bulk transportation equipment. Experience with Detroit Diesel engines. Welding and fabrication experience. Skills and Competencies Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
