Job Description

Company Overview:
Store & Haul is a second-generation, family-owned food-grade bulk liquid carrier operating since 1991. As a Diesel Technician/Mechanic, you will play a vital role in maintaining our fleet of Volvo trucks & tanker trailers to ensure their safe and efficient operation. Job Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and tire rotations. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues in diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other vehicle systems. Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems and recommend preventive measures. Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately diagnose and resolve complex issues. Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory. Collaborate with the team to ensure timely completion of repairs and minimize vehicle downtime. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Stay updated with industry advancements and new technologies relevant to diesel mechanics. Assist in training and mentoring junior mechanics when necessary.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent Certification in Diesel Mechanics or a related field is preferred Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in the transportation industry Solid understanding of diesel engines, electrical systems, and vehicle diagnostics, preferably Volvo Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with team members and drivers Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand or walk for 8-10 consecutive hours per day Ability to lift, push, or pull heavy objects, up to 75 pounds, on a regular basis Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move around equipment frequently Ability to work in a noisy and sometimes dirty environment Ability to work in a garage/shop with variable temperatures Ability to operate heavy equipment, such as diagnostic tools and machinery, safely and efficiently Ability to driver vehicles to/from the shop Ability to climb on the trailer, under equipment, and constantly moving under & above equipment frequently The physical demands described are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation, in accordance with the ADA and Ohio law.
