Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and vehicles
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with diesel engines, including electrical and hydraulic systems
- Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance on diesel vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety
- Repair or replace faulty parts, such as brakes, shocks, struts, and air brake systems
- Align wheels and perform suspension adjustments as needed
- Fabricate or modify parts as necessary to complete repairs
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve issues
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of diesel engines and systems
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks
- Experience working with tractor-trailers or other large diesel vehicles is preferred
- Knowledge of HVAC systems in diesel vehicles is a plus
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting purposes
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new technologies and stay updated on industry advancements
