Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and reliable Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel-powered equipment and vehicles, including heavy machinery, farm equipment, and commercial trucks. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with automotive diagnostics, and proficiency in using hand tools and power tools. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse equipment in a dynamic environment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, alignment, and shocks & struts replacement. Repair and fabricate components using welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers for testing and repair purposes. Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs and maintenance performed. Assist with assembly and disassembly of vehicle components as needed. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations related to heavy equipment operation and vehicle repair. Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime of machinery and vehicles. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair needs clearly and efficiently. Qualifications Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership or heavy equipment background preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and electrical systems. Experience with automotive diagnostics tools and schematics interpretation. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery is highly desirable. Familiarity with vehicle maintenance including brake repair, wheel alignment, shocks & struts replacement, tire service, and suspension work. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Valid driver's license is required; experience operating industrial or commercial vehicles is a plus.
