Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and machinery across various industries. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced equipment, utilize your mechanical skills, and contribute to the smooth operation of our operations. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and automotive diagnostics tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and industrial equipment to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair requirements. Service and repair vehicle components including brake systems, transmissions, alignments, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and tire services. Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures while adhering to safety protocols. Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals for accurate troubleshooting and repairs. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed to ensure compliance with safety standards. Experience Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engines and heavy equipment repair in a dealership or industrial setting. Familiarity with OEM parts catalogs and the ability to source authentic replacement parts for optimal performance. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, suspensions, powertrains, and HVAC systems related to heavy machinery. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators or forklift trucks safely during maintenance tasks. Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic software, and schematics. Customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members regarding repairs or maintenance needs.
