Includes the removal, replacement and repair of any an all components of the tractor or truck. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides preventive maintenance and DOT Inspection using the correct procedures and guidelines. Diagnoses and repairs tractors and trucks using well-established policies and procedures, as well as hand and power tools; this includes, but is not limited to, various types of braking systems (hydraulic, air, disc), electrical systems, clutches, air conditioning and heating systems and instruments and gauges, steering mechanisms, wheels, tires, batteries. Identifies parts and/or systems for repair; repairs or replaces, as appropriate. Removes broken parts and replaces with new or reconditioned parts. Road tests vehicles to diagnosis issues and ensure a safe operating vehicle. Uses hydraulic jacks to raise equipment. Other duties as required. Requirements High school education or GED In-depth knowledge of all hand, air and power tools required for this industry Basic understanding and knowledge of welding and Oxy/Acetylene cutting procedures Overall complete knowledge with comprehensive truck/trailer repair. Extensive diagnostic and repair knowledge.
