Job Summary Mechanic - Diesel Truck - Trailer Wage based on skills and experience employment type: full-time, rotating weekends on call
DIESEL MECHANIC
Performing routine repairs and preventative maintenance on all trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, diesel, gasoline and small engines company wide.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Inspect, troubleshoot and diagnose different systems including but not limited to: ignition systems, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, transmissions, axles, suspensions, lighting systems, electrical and computer control systems. Diagnose, repair and maintain all types of gas and diesel equipment including but not limited to: Trucks and Trailers. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work meets company and safety requirements. Prepare service reports, work orders, and parts lists, in an accurate, legible and timely manner. Perform safety inspections. Keep shop tools and equipment safe, clean and organized.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Applicable technical, vocational, or trade school coursework a plus. Current and valid Oregon Driver's License required Welding and fabrication experience is preferred Must have a complete set of mechanic tools, adequate for performing duties. Advanced skills required of hydraulics, diesel engines, electrical and basic trouble shooting skills are preferred Inspect equipment to verify safety or to ensure that company requirements are met. Must be able to work alone and with others.
This is a full-time position:
Monday - Friday, with overtime as needed.
