This position supports fleet maintenance and repair operations with a focus on DOT-compliant service and bumper-to-bumper diagnostics on trucks and trailers. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with the following: diesel engine diagnostics, DOT inspections, air brake systems, hydraulic systems, drivetrain repair, and low-voltage electrical troubleshooting.
Pay & Schedule Pay:
$32-$37/hour
DOE Shift:
Swing shift, 2:30pm-11:00pm Key Responsibilities Perform bumper-to-bumper maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks and trailers Complete DOT Annual Vehicle Inspections in compliance with state and federal regulations Diagnose and repair steering, suspension, and drivetrain components including brakes, differentials, drivelines, and wheel ends Troubleshoot and repair low-voltage electrical systems Service and repair pneumatic air brake systems Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems including cylinders, PTOs, valves, and pumps Perform basic engine and transmission troubleshooting, including clutch replacement Complete accurate written and electronic work orders Perform occasional shop, building, and yard maintenance as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of diesel truck and trailer maintenance experience Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Knowledge of DOT compliance and inspection requirements Ability to maintain vehicles to state and federal DOT standards Ability to operate vehicles up to and including Class 8 trucks Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Adequately stocked personal toolbox Basic computer skills and clear documentation habits Preferred Qualifications Vocational training or technical certificate in diesel or heavy equipment repair Experience with Cummins Insite, Detroit DDEC, or CAT ET diagnostic software Class A, B, or C CDL Engine rebuilding experience Welding or fabrication experience Benefits Medical Paid Sick Leave Paid Holidays 401(k) with Company Match Work Environment This role is performed in a shop and yard environment with exposure to heavy equipment, noise, moving vehicles, and physical demands. Work includes standing for extended periods, lifting components, bending, and hands-on mechanical repair. PPE and established safety procedures are required at all times.

$32.00 - $37.00 per hour
