Job Title :
Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered commercial vehicles and equipment. In this role, you will ensure our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with DOT and manufacturer standards. The ideal candidate has strong work ethic, experience with heavy-duty diesel systems, and a commitment to quality work in a fast-paced shop or field environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance on all makes and models of equipment.
  • Diagnose problems and issues related to company fleet.
  • Ordering parts and tracking repairs.
  • Have the ability to work overtime when needed.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Laptop and specialty tools will be provided to diagnose problems on semi-trucks.
  • Maintain accurate records of all services, repairs, parts used, and time spent.
  • Use shop equipment safely, including hoists, jacks, welding tools, and specialized diagnostic instruments.
  • Perform minor body or chassis repairs when needed and assist with roadside or field service calls.
  • Keep the work area clean, and organized. Requirements and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Air brake system knowledge
  • Fuel system knowledge
  • Electric system knowledge
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 100 lbs occasionally), work in various positions, and tolerate shop noise, fumes, and outdoor conditions.
  • Engine repairs
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with good problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, when needed for fleet demands.
  • Trouble shooting skills
  • Valid drivers license
  • A good set of basic tools. Specialty tools will be provided. Preferred Skills
  • Experience working on Screens / Grinders / Trommels
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems common in commercial vehicles and production equipment.
