Job Description
Job Summary Looking for a mechanic that knows how to work on Detroit, Cummin, CAT, Mercedes motors, transmission, starters, diagnosing and everything that comes with working on heavy equipment tractors and box trucks. Monday-Friday 8am-4pm pay varies depending on experience, tools etc. We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our fleet running smoothly, supporting operations across various industries including transportation, construction, and agriculture. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art machinery and develop your mechanical skills in a fast-paced environment. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, and electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, alignment, and air brake inspections to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan. Fabricate and modify parts or components using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and farm machinery to troubleshoot issues or perform repairs on-site or in the shop. Utilize automotive electrical system repair skills to diagnose complex electrical issues in heavy trucks and industrial equipment. Read and interpret schematics to accurately identify problems within mechanical systems and execute precise repairs. Assist with assembly of new equipment or parts as needed while maintaining safety standards at all times. Skills Proven dealership experience with heavy truck repair or industrial equipment maintenance highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and suspension components. Skilled in automotive diagnostics using modern tools and software to quickly identify issues. Proficient with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication tools for custom repairs. Experience working with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery. Ability to read complex schematics and technical manuals accurately for precise troubleshooting. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
