DAY SHIFT

$30-$32/HR Job Description We are seeking a skilled mechanic to perform journey-level repair work on a variety of medium and heavy vehicles and equipment in our vehicle maintenance shop. This position operates on a day shift, Monday through Friday, from 6 am to 3 pm. Responsibilities Perform journey-level repair work on a wide variety of medium and heavy vehicles and equipment. Complete preventive maintenance by inspecting, servicing, and correcting discrepancies in accordance with maintenance policies, directives, and advisories. Complete work order documents noting time and parts and supplies used. Verify working order of equipment after servicing is complete. Respond to emergency service calls and perform roadside repair. Perform major repairs on air brakes, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems. Conduct road tests on vehicles and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot problems. Report work status and special problems to lead or manager promptly. Accurately record time, details, and parts of repairs. Essential Skills Minimum of 4-5 years' experience in inspection, repair, modification, or troubleshooting equipment. Graduation from an accredited technical school, apprentice program, or verified military schooling program teaching the mechanic trade preferred. At least one ASE certification in Medium/Heavy Truck or obtain one within 90 days of hire. Ability to diagnose and repair all types of equipment. Valid commercial operator's license required for heavy equipment or obtain CDL "A" or "B" within 6 months of employment. Department of Transportation (DOT) health card. Demonstrated ability to perform complete operational checks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Excellent people skills and focus on superior customer service. Team player with the ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with others. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English for a working knowledge of hazardous, safety, and environmental warnings. High school diploma or equivalent. Good technical knowledge; additional training for Hazardous Waste Accumulation, Pollution Prevention and other training related to the position may be required. Why Work Here? Join a team of 10 mechanics in the shop, ensuring a collaborative and supportive work atmosphere. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Bridgeville, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $62400.00/yr.
