Job Description

Job Summary Heavy Duty technicians are responsible for inspects, diagnoses, and repairs diesel-powered vehicles (trucks, buses, heavy equipment) by performing maintenance, using diagnostic tools, and fixing complex issues in engines, brakes, transmissions, and electrical systems, while also documenting work, interacting with customers, and ensuring safety and compliance with regulations. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair Trucks, including preventive maintenance, state inspections, DOT inspections, and follow checklists to identify faults in diesel engines, brakes, steering, transmissions, electrical and body repairs, with safety as the top priority. Read work orders, use diagnostic software, and follow checklists to identify faults in diesel engines, brakes, steering, and transmissions. Perform general or routine welding with or without prints. Use effective interpersonal skills to maintain positive working relationships with team members, all Rob's Automotive and Collision personnel and external vendors. Contribute to the goals of the shop, leadership team and the Company as a whole. Ensure proper documentation is completed including repair orders, FHWA, PM and time cards. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and take appropriate actions, recommend process changes and initiate improvements. Work additional hours in accordance with business needs and other demands of the position. Perform all other duties as assigned. Skills Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment with accuracy and promptness. Professional appearance adheres to Company Uniform Policy and demonstrates a strong work ethic. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with both internal and external customers. Updating and using relevant knowledge by keeping up to date technically and applying new job knowledge to job. Able to examine products, equipment, and work performed for defects, problems or errors. Ability to plan, organize and execute repairs to meet performance deadlines. Able to keep work area organized, clean and clear of hazards. Possess a valid driver's license. Pass a motor vehicle report and possess an acceptable safe driving record. Pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
